Betty Legs Diamond was and is a drag act well known for performing at Funny Girls in Blackpool. The creation of Simon Green, Betty has a fantastic talent for impersonation, comedy and dance. She performed in west end shows for over 10 years and soon became one of the top UK female impersonators.

After a stint at the London Palladium in a show called ‘Stairway to The Stars’ she received an invitation to open Blackpool’s newest cabaret venue at the time, Funny Girls.

In 1994 Funny Girls opened it’s doors and received rave reviews and even had to increase it’s capacity due to demand in it’s second year of business. The show went from strength to strength and became a famous Blackpool attraction in it’s own right.

In 2004 Betty received an invitation to perform at the Royal Variety Performance and again in 2005.

After performing at Funny Girls for 15 years, Betty received an invite to open a new theatre venue in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne called Boulevard. This venue also went from strength to strength.

Betty now lives in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
